On 14 October 2026 we asked Google and three assistants, web search on, and recorded who each named and cited.
Google's AI Overview for “ai seo dallas”, searched from Dallas, described AI SEO as optimizing a business to rank on Google and Bing and also to be cited and recommended by AI engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude. It cited three agency websites, and in the text we captured it named no agency.
For “ai seo agency”, searched from Dallas the same day, it cited three other agency websites.

“Who is the best AI SEO agency in Dallas, TX?”
- ChatGPT: Thrive Internet Marketing Agency, Vizion Interactive, Nativz, Web Tonic and one other.
- Perplexity: Thrive Internet Marketing Agency, Global Ranking Solution LLC, Nativz and five others, each named once.
- Gemini: Its list began with Thrive Internet Marketing Agency and three others, each named once.

Businesses are named as they appeared as of Oct 14, 2026. Search results and AI answers change often: this is a dated snapshot, not a ranking or a judgment of anyone named.
Thrive Internet Marketing Agency was named by all three assistants on the general question, yet none of its pages is among the ten organic results for “ai seo dallas” searched from Dallas that day. Nativz, Vizion Interactive and Web Tonic appeared both in Google's top ten and in ChatGPT's list.
Change the buyer and the names change: on the B2B software question, neither ChatGPT nor Perplexity named Thrive.
The assistants also told buyers how to judge agencies. ChatGPT said an agency-produced ranking is marketing, not independent proof. Perplexity said to ask for verifiable case studies showing qualified organic leads and mentions in AI search. Judge NIXAR the same way.

In October 2026 Google Ads data showed an average click for “ai seo”, searched from Dallas, at $39.39, against $14.76 for “digital marketing”. DataForSEO Labs counted 1,600 US searches a month for “ai seo agency” at $45.01 a click, while Google Ads counted fewer than 50 a month made from Dallas.
Few people in Dallas type these phrases and each paid click costs a lot. That does not prove AI visibility pays; it says renting this attention by the click is expensive.
Trades are the same. Google Ads data showed 2,900 monthly searches for “ac repair” made from Dallas at an average $59.31 a click, 4,400 for “plumber” at $34.06 and 1,600 for “personal injury lawyer” at $244.34. Where a click costs that much, a lead is worth a lot, and so is being the name an assistant gives.
What the pages ranking for AI SEO have in common
We read the ten organic results Google showed from Dallas on 14 October 2026 for three phrases, judging by titles and web addresses, not by reading every page.
“ai seo dallas”: lists first
Six of the ten results are lists, directories or roundup reviews: two agency directories and four agency roundups, among them those from Nativz and Web Tonic. Three are agency pages, one of them Vizion Interactive's, and one is a post on a professional network. Nine name Dallas in the title or address.
“ai seo agency”: national, and no Dallas
Five of the ten are “best agencies” lists and five are agency service pages, including Thrive's. None has Dallas in its title. For “ai seo services” the titles that name a place say America, the United States or USA.
Their own pages are general
Two of the three agency pages for “ai seo dallas” are titled as plain Dallas SEO pages. Many list titles carry a year, 2025 or 2026. Size is not the whole story: DataForSEO Labs estimated nativz.io at 4,141 organic visits a month and thriveagency.com at 369,981 (14 October 2026), yet Nativz's roundup ranked fifth.
