Home services marketing in DFW: trade by trade
Home services marketing is getting a plumber, remodeler, gutter installer, pool builder or custom builder found by homeowners on Google, in the map results and in AI answers. In Dallas-Fort Worth the trades behave like different markets.
In October 2026, Google Ads data showed 390 monthly searches for “kitchen remodeling” made from Dallas, at an average of $10.34 a click, and 170 monthly searches for “gutter installation” made from Fort Worth, at $53.17 a click. The plan starts with your trade’s demand, price per click and season, not with a template.

What each trade’s searches and clicks look like
Google Ads Keyword Planner data via DataForSEO, pulled 14 October 2026: average monthly searches made from each city, and the average price advertisers paid Google per click. A high click price means a lead in that trade is worth a lot to the businesses bidding. Figures under 50 searches a month are noisy, so those cells say “fewer than 50” and their click prices are thin data.
| Search | Dallas | Fort Worth | Frisco |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kitchen remodeling | 390 a month, $10.34 a click | 140 a month, $26.44 a click | 50 a month, $6.03 a click |
| Gutter installation | 260 a month, $15.10 a click | 170 a month, $53.17 a click | Fewer than 50 a month, $17.19 (thin data) |
| Water softener installation | 210 a month, $25.29 a click | 90 a month, no click price reported | Fewer than 50 a month, $13 (thin data) |
| Custom home builder | 260 a month, $6.95 a click | 170 a month, $12.46 a click | Fewer than 50 a month, $25.90 (thin data) |
| Pool builder | 170 a month, no click price reported | 70 a month, $39.66 a click | Fewer than 50 a month, $23.55 (thin data) |
- In October 2026, Google Ads data showed gutter installation clicks from Fort Worth averaging $53.17, about 3.5 times the $15.10 for Dallas, even though Dallas had more searches (260 a month against 170).
- In October 2026, Google Ads data showed custom home builder as the cheapest Dallas click in the table at $6.95, and water softener installation the dearest at $25.29.
When each trade peaks in Dallas
Monthly searches made from Dallas, October 2025 to September 2026, from the same Google Ads pull.
| Search from Dallas | Lowest month | Highest month |
|---|---|---|
| Plumber | 2,900 (Oct 2025, Jan, Feb and Mar 2026) | 8,100 (each of Jul, Aug and Sep 2026) |
| Pool builder | 90 (May 2026) | 320 (Oct and Nov 2025, and Sep 2026) |
| Kitchen remodeling | 260 (Nov 2025 and May 2026) | 590 (Sep 2026) |
| Gutter installation | 170 (Sep 2026) | 390 (Jul 2026) |
| Water softener | 320 (Jun 2026) | 720 (Sep 2026) |
- Plumber searches made from Dallas stayed between 2,900 and 3,600 a month from October 2025 to June 2026, then reached 8,100 a month in each of July, August and September 2026 (Google Ads data).
- Gutter installation moves the other way: searches from Fort Worth fell from 320 a month in October 2025 to 90 in September 2026.
What contractors search when they look for help
These are US-wide counts for the phrase, not searches from DFW. In October 2026, DataForSEO Labs showed 1,000 monthly US searches for “home services seo” at $25.49 a click, 880 for “contractor seo” at $63.19 and 720 for “home services marketing” at $16.47.
What NIXAR has built for home-service companies
NIXAR built the websites for three home-service companies and did the SEO, AI visibility (GEO) and website for a fourth. None is a Dallas-Fort Worth client, and we publish no results, numbers or quotes for any of them.
Premium Seamless Gutters
NIXAR built websites for Premium Seamless Gutters, in the New Braunfels, San Marcos and Seguin area of Texas.
Quest Exteriors
NIXAR built the website for Quest Exteriors, which works in more than one state.
Bedrock Water
NIXAR built the website for Bedrock Water, a water treatment business in Connecticut.
SYB Builders
SYB Builders is a general contractor in Canton, Texas. NIXAR did their SEO, AI visibility (GEO) and website.
What these four projects taught us: owners wanted to understand why a new site would do better than their old one. Many had dated or generic template sites that only their existing customers ever saw. Trust came from explaining how getting found has changed, with Google and AI answers, and why we design a site around the company instead of a generic template.
What wins when home-service searches are made in DFW
All searches here were run from Dallas on 14 October 2026 (Google desktop): one homeowner search, “plumber”, plus searches a home-service owner makes when looking for marketing help and one builder search.
The map results
- On 14 October 2026, Google’s map results for “plumber”, searched from Dallas, showed four plumbing companies, rated 4.9 to 5.0 from 71 to 2,000 reviews each. Paid ads also appeared on that search.
- For “home services seo” from Dallas, the map results showed three agencies, rated 4.8 to 5 from 77 to 352 reviews each.
- For “custom home builder marketing” from Dallas, the map results showed three builders, not agencies, rated 4.9 to 5 from 19 to 58 reviews each.
- For “home services marketing agency” the first map result was a new-construction homes business (rated 4.4 from 172 reviews). Google matched the words, so the wording on your pages and profile decides which searches you appear in.
The organic results
- Judging by domain, the 10 organic results for “plumber” from Dallas were 5 plumbing company sites, 4 directories or marketplaces and 1 encyclopedia page. Two of the six People Also Ask questions were about price, one about choosing a plumber.
- Judging by page titles, 5 of the 10 organic results for “home services marketing agency” from Dallas were ‘best of’ lists or videos, 4 were agency service pages and 1 was a buyer’s guide.
- For “home services seo”, 2 of 10 were ‘best of’ lists, 6 were guides, 1 was an agency page and 1 was a forum thread.
What six of those pages share
We opened the top three results for each marketing-help search. Word counts are rough.
- An agency page (about 950 words) that never names Dallas or Fort Worth.
- A directory of Texas agencies run by a software company (about 3,900 words), naming Dallas 8 times.
- A guide to Texas agencies (about 1,500 words), naming Dallas once.
- A list of 15 agencies (about 3,700 words) and a strategy guide (about 3,000), neither naming Dallas or Fort Worth.
- An agency page for Texas of about 1,100 words, naming Dallas once and Fort Worth once.
Fort Worth appears once across all six pages. None is about one trade in one part of DFW with real projects on it.
What AI assistants named for HVAC and plumbing marketing
On 14 October 2026 we entered that prompt, word for word, into ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini with web search on, through DataForSEO’s LLM Responses tool. Each answer is one run: a snapshot.
Prompt: What is the best marketing agency for home service businesses like HVAC and plumbing in DFW? Name specific companies.
- Across the three answers, 15 different agencies were named. Two appeared in two answers each: Click4Corp (ChatGPT and Perplexity) and Digital Success (ChatGPT and Gemini).
- The other 13 were each named once. We list the first two each assistant named once: Habanero Studios and Superpath (ChatGPT), Momentum and Rise Local (Perplexity), and Vicarious Branding and HVAC Webmasters (Gemini). The remaining seven, each named once, are counted but not listed.
- ChatGPT named six agencies, Perplexity seven, and Gemini, as captured, four. Perplexity advised interviewing three of its seven first.
Businesses are named as they appeared as of Oct 14, 2026. Search results and AI answers change often: this is a dated snapshot, not a ranking or a judgment of anyone named.
What the three answers had in common
- No agency appeared in all three answers.
- The answers named agencies based in DFW towns: Perplexity placed Momentum in Fort Worth, and Gemini placed Vicarious Branding in Plano, HVAC Webmasters in Fort Worth and Digital Success in Dallas. None of the three named NIXAR.
- ChatGPT’s six cited pages were five agency websites and one blog post on HVAC marketing agencies in Dallas. Perplexity’s ten were a mix of ‘best of’ posts and agencies’ own sites.
- All three stayed with HVAC and plumbing, because the prompt did. We did not run it for the project trades.
Perplexity’s advice to buyers: ask for DFW case studies, cost per booked call and call-tracking access, and require reporting tied to qualified calls, booked appointments, sold jobs and revenue. This run is about agencies, not proof of how assistants rank a plumber.
Three gaps a DFW home-service business can use
Project trades pay the most per click for the fewest searches
Fort Worth gutter clicks averaged $53.17 on 170 monthly searches, pool builder clicks $39.66 on 70 and kitchen remodeling clicks $26.44 on 140 (Google Ads data, October 2026). On volumes that small, paying for every click is the costly route. A page that earns organic results carries more weight, and for businesses with a verifiable address, reviews and a Business Profile can earn map results: the plumber map results above held 71 to 2,000 reviews.
Season decides when the work has to be finished
Plumber searches from Dallas went from 3,600 a month in June 2026 to 8,100 in July. Pool builder searches were 90 in May and 320 in September. Pages, profiles and tracking ready before your trade’s peak catch the month demand arrives.
Demand sits in Dallas and Fort Worth, not in every suburb
For “kitchen remodeling” Google Ads data showed 390 monthly searches from Dallas, 140 from Fort Worth, 110 each from Lewisville and Plano, 50 from Frisco and 10 from Prosper. A near-identical page for each of 15 cities reads as a template. One strong page per trade, with real projects and the areas you serve, does more.
A checklist for emergency trades and project trades
Emergency trades, such as plumbing and electrical, win on speed and the phone. Project trades, such as remodeling, building, pools, gutters and water treatment, win on trust built over weeks.
Emergency trades
- Make the phone number the main action on every page, and test that one tap on a phone connects.
- For businesses with a verifiable address, set your Google Business Profile hours and categories to what you really answer.
- Track every call by source, and call back missed ones the same hour.
- Write one page per urgent job (burst pipe, water heater replacement) saying what happens next, how fast and what drives the cost, with no numbers.
- Judge Local Services Ads and organic results by cost per booked job, not cost per click.
- Have pages and ad budgets ready by June: Dallas plumber searches reached 8,100 a month in July 2026.
Project trades
- Build a page per project type (kitchen remodel, pool build) with real photos, the steps from first call to finished job, the timeline and what drives the cost.
- Show finished projects with their area where the homeowner agrees. Do not swap city names into copy.
- Ask every customer for a review, never only the happy ones.
- Plan for a long decision: Google’s AI Overview for “custom home builder marketing” on 14 October 2026 described a long, high-consideration sales cycle. Ask for timeline and project type in your form and reply within a day.
- Publish before the season: Dallas kitchen remodeling searches peaked at 590 a month in September 2026.
For both: the same name, phone and service area on every listing, a site that loads fast on a phone, and every call and form tracked to a booked job.
Roofers have their own page: roofing SEO. For other kinds of local business, see local business marketing. The SEO and AI visibility work behind this page is on the AI SEO and GEO service page.
The fix missing most often on contractor sites is the site itself: a dated or generic template site that doesn’t reflect the company and isn’t built to be found in search or AI answers. People skim and leave fast, so a site has to hook them quickly and put the key information where they can scan it. Many local businesses also aren’t ranking for their own local searches and don’t know why.
Your first 90 days with NIXAR
This is the work NIXAR does, in order. We promise no ranking or date.
Weeks 1 to 2: read your trade
We audit Google and AI answers for your top three services in the cities you serve and pull your trade’s searches, click prices and season, as above. We check your listings (and, for businesses with a verifiable address, your Google Business Profile), ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude the questions your customers would ask, record whether you come up and what is said, and set up call and form tracking.
Weeks 3 to 6: fix what blocks calls
We fix the site: one page per service, a one-tap phone number, speed, and code that says what you are and where you work. We make every listing show the same name, phone and area, and start asking every customer for a review after each job.
Weeks 7 to 10: build what is missing
We write the few pages tied to your biggest searches and your season: project pages with real photos and answers to what customers ask on calls. We do the profile and entity work that lets Google and AI tools tell you apart from similar names. No bought links.
Weeks 11 to 13: measure and decide
We rerun the same AI questions and record who is named, compare calls and booked jobs with the week-one baseline, and decide with you what to keep and what to build before your peak.
By day 90 we aim for a business to start appearing in AI answers for specific, longer questions and to reach page one for its less competitive local searches. Highly competitive keywords take longer. This is what we aim for, not a promise.
Questions from home-service owners
What is home services marketing?
Home services marketing is getting a trade business, such as a plumber, remodeler, gutter installer or builder, found and chosen by homeowners. It covers Google search, the map results, AI answers, the website and how calls and forms become booked jobs.
What does a click cost for home service companies in DFW?
It depends on the trade and the city. In October 2026, Google Ads data showed averages from $6.95 for custom home builder searches from Dallas to $53.17 for gutter installation searches from Fort Worth.
Is SEO or Google Ads better for plumbing, remodeling or pool leads?
It depends on volume and price. Plumber searches from Dallas reached 8,100 a month in July 2026, so test both. Pool builder searches from Fort Worth were 70 a month at $39.66 a click, so earning the organic result (and, for businesses with a verifiable address, a map result) matters more.
Do I need a separate page for every city I serve?
No. For kitchen remodeling, Google Ads data from October 2026 showed 390 monthly searches from Dallas and 140 from Fort Worth, and fewer than 50 from several other DFW cities. Pool builder searches from Plano and Frisco were also under 50 a month. One strong page per trade beats a page per city.
Can an AI assistant recommend my contracting business?
It can, and nobody can guarantee it. In our 14 October 2026 test the assistants named four to seven agencies each, drawing on lists and the agencies’ own sites. Google’s guide to generative AI features says optimizing for generative AI search is still SEO: clear service pages, matching listings and reviews.
Where these numbers come from
- Google Ads Keyword Planner data via DataForSEO: monthly searches and average price per click for each trade, searched from each DFW city, and the 12-month seasonality table. Pulled 14 October 2026.

- Google search results from Dallas (desktop): map results, organic results and People Also Ask for seven searches, including “plumber”, “home services marketing agency”, “home services seo” and “custom home builder marketing”. Pulled 14 October 2026.
- The top three organic pages for two of those searches: word counts and the mentions of Dallas and Fort Worth, read from the page source. Pulled 14 October 2026.
- ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini answers with web search, via DataForSEO LLM Responses: the agencies each assistant named for HVAC and plumbing marketing in DFW (as of Oct 14, 2026), and the pages each cited. Pulled 14 October 2026.
- Google Search Central, guide to optimizing for generative AI features (last updated 10 July 2026): the statement that optimizing for generative AI search is still SEO. Pulled 14 October 2026.
